Fraud and plagiarism
It is important to be aware of what constitutes fraud and plagiarism, and, of course, to prevent it. Any form of academic dishonesty is considered serious, and you are expected to uphold academic integrity.
The Education and Examination Regulations (OER) of your programme outline the formal procedure in the case of suspected fraud/plagiarism and specify the sanctions that can be imposed. The strongest sanction is expulsion from the programme.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism occurs when you copy data or parts of text from others in a thesis or other paper without citing the source.
Copyright
As a student, you regularly have to deal with copyright. For example, you can use copyrighted work in a study. But you are also an author yourself when you publish something like your thesis.
