Students are subject to a number of rights, duties, guidelines and regulations. In addition, Utrecht University is bound by a number of obligations and laws. This page lists a number of the most important rules and guidelines.

- Privacy Utrecht University wants to handle the personal data of everyone who works, studies or participates in research with us in a careful manner.

- Code of Conduct The Code of Conduct sets out the mission and core values of the UU, including the rules of conduct expected of students.
- Concerns about domestic violence Do you suspect that someone is dealing with domestic violence or child abuse?
- Intellectual Property Rights for Students As a student, you may create work that could be interesting for companies. But are you allowed to commercialize it? You can find out more here.
- Financial support Are you experiencing study delays due to special circumstances? You may be eligible for financial support.
- Education Guideline This guideline states what needs to be arranged in the courses and how the quality of education is guaranteed.
- Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy This policy applies to all non-EU/EEA students who have a residence permit for study purposes.
Enrolment and tuition fees
- Enrolment and tuition fees All rules regarding registration and tuition fees are written down in the Enrolment and Tuition Fee Regulations. You can find it on this page.
- Extra student contributions in addition to tuition fees The Guidelines for additional contributions in addition to tuition fees set out the UU's principles and conditions for requesting additional contributions.
Assessment
- Assessment and grading The UU has several important regulations for assessment. In order to interpret your grades correctly, it is important to know these.
- Online proctoring If you are unable to take an exam on location due to special circumstances, you can request an exam via online proctoring as a special provision.
- UU grades abroad To make our grades transparent for foreign universities, the UU uses Grading Tables.
- Fraud and plagiarism It is important that you deal with academic matters with integrity. You can read more about how to do this here.
