Tuition fees

As a student, you pay tuition fees annually. The tuition fee rate applies to a full academic year; the amount you need to pay depends on your situation. If you are not registered for the entire academic year, you may be entitled to a partial refund of the paid tuition fees.

Types of fees

There are two types of tuition fees: the lower statutory fee and the higher institutional fee. Below you can find which fees apply when.

Refund of tuition fees

If you do not wish to remain registered for the entire academic year (for example after your have graduated), then you have the option to terminate your enrolment before the end of the academic year. You may then be entitled to a refund of part of your tuition fees. You can read the rules and exceptions on our page about deregistration. More information about tuition fees can be found in the Registration and Tuition Fee Regulations.
