Bhv (company emergency response officers) training
The basic training for company emergency response officers is given by Crisicom according to the standards of NIBHV in Amersfoort. The training consists of three parts. First of all, you do an e-learning, then a practical day and then another half day of UU bhv. The e-learning will take you about 4 hours, but you can spread this over two weeks at a time that suits you. During the practical day, you will actually practise everything you have learned in the e-learning. The practical day is at the trainer's premises in Amersfoort. On the last day you get to hear all about the OH&S organisation of the UU. This is in the administration building.
What happens next...
If you have passed everything successfully, you are officially an emergency response worker at the UU. You are now on call for incidents ranging from incapacitation to fire alarms. To keep your bhv diploma valid, you are offered a refresher course every year by the UU. This is compulsory in order to remain an emergency responce officer.
The tasks of the in-house emergency response team
- Providing first aid;
- limiting and fighting an incipient fire
- preventing and limiting accidents
- alerting and evacuating staff and other persons in the building and in some cases keeping them inside;
- assisting the fire brigade and other emergency services.
These tasks are described in the Company Emergency Response Plan for each faculty. This also contains specific information about the buildings and the activities that take place there.
Picasse
To be on call for emergencies, we use the app 'Picasse'. Based on location data, this app determines how many emergency response team members are present within a certain circle. Privacy is fully guaranteed by clear agreements between Picasse and UU. This app is installed in class during the training "specific working methods and regulations". This app is necessary to receive emergency calls and needs to be installed on your phone if you want to become an emergency response officer.
