Submit an objection
You can submit an objection free of charge if you disagree with a written decision made by a body of the university (such as the Executive Board or the Director of Student & Academic Affairs). You can object within a period of 6 weeks.
Examples of decisions you can object to:
- Decisions on (termination of) enrolment
- Fulfilment, exemption, reduction or refund of tuition fees
- Financial support in cases of circumstances beyond one’s control (FinSCO)
- Compensation for board activities
- Issuing of diploma
- Measures denying access to buildings
- The possibility of completing the programme when the programme is terminated
- Selection procedure for bachelor's programmes with limited enrolment
Please note: If you participate in the selection procedure for a programme with limited enrolment, you can submit a request to deviate from the rules in addition to the possibility of lodging an objection.
Do you disagree with a decision by/on behalf of an examination committee or examiner or a decision on admission to a master's programme? There is no possibility to object, but you can submit an appeal within six weeks. See here where you can go.
Can I submit an objection?
You can file an objection against a written decision that directly affects your interests. You cannot submit an objection against a general regulation.
What is the deadline for submitting an objection?
You must submit your appeal within six weeks from the date the decision was sent to you. If you submit your objection too late, it will only be dealt with if there are valid reasons; holidays do not count as such. If the deadline is about to expire, you can submit a provisional notice of objection in which you state your objection and against which decision, without directly stating the grounds for your objection. The body that made the decision (e.g. the Executive Board) will then give you a deadline to complete the grounds of your objection.
