Winter weather update – on-campus teaching resumes on Monday

Utrecht University has decided that teaching on campus will resume on Monday 12 January and that scheduled exams will take place as scheduled. The university buildings will be open according to the regular opening hours.

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a code orange weather warning for the Utrecht region until 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning, followed by a code yellow warning until 7:00 a.m. This means there may still be local slippery conditions in the early morning. Students and staff are advised to take this into account and to plan their journeys carefully.

Students are asked to keep an eye on their digital learning environment (Brightspace) for any updates from their lecturers.

“Thanks to everyone for the flexibility and commitment shown in the recent period, during which teaching and services continued under exceptional circumstances,” said Wilco Hazeleger, Rector Magnificus. “It is good that we can now resume on-campus teaching.”

If there are new developments, an update will follow. Please keep an eye on the intranet (login required), the student site or uu.nl for further information.
