The latest UU Master’s information evening took place on Wednesday 1 February. All Science Master’s programmes were present at the Hijmans van den Bergh building to inform visitors about their programme. Besides an information market and presentations per programme, this time we organised a special presentation for University College students.
The students of this broad honours bachelor often think that they are not eligible for our Master’s programmes, or have to do a pre-master programme in order to be admitted. Every student is reviewed individually of course, but generally these students are admissible and able to clear any deficiencies within the Master’s programme.
The purpose of this special presentation was to welcome these honours students to our university and inform them about the opportunities we have to offer. Graduate Dean Marijk van de Wende opened the session and welcomed all UC visitors. Twan Maintz gave a presentation about eligibility, Master profiles and double Master’s within the programmes of the Graduate Schools of Natural Sciences and Life Sciences. Subsequently, four present Master’s students with a UC background spoke about their own experiences and answered questions.
There was a lot of interest for this presentation, so we will certainly repeat this next time.
