Wanted: Student Assessor for the LEG Faculty Board 2026–2027

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance is looking for a committed and motivated student to join the LEG Faculty Board for the 2026–2027 academic year.

About the LEG Faculty Board

The LEG Faculty Board consists of the Dean, the Vice-Deans for Education and for Research and Impact, the Faculty Director and the student assessor. The board determines faculty strategies and policies based on developments in education and research. This involves deliberating and deciding on education and research policy, finances, communication, and the profiling of degree programmes and research at the faculty. In the coming year, the savings the faculty must achieve will form a significant part of the agenda.

As a student assessor, you will be a member of a number of faculty committees, such as the Election Committee, the Library Committee and the SKOw Committee. You will be a member of the Impact Board and the Board of Studies, and you will maintain close contact with the study associations, the student members of the Faculty Council, the programme committees and the assessors on the departmental boards. In short, you form an important link between students, study associations, student representation bodies, and the faculty board.

We are looking for a LEG student who:

  • understands the concerns of students and can advise the board on these matters;
  • is critical and driven;
  • is interested in and willing to contribute to policy in the areas of education, research and societal impact;
  • is sensitive and has a good understanding of administrative dynamics;
  • acts with integrity and can handle confidential information;
  • can work independently on key priorities;
  • has a clear understanding of the context in which the faculty and university operate;
  • has strong communication skills and works well with others;
  • is able to quickly grasp new issues;
  • is a good discussion partner for fellow board members and (policy) staff.

During the academic year, the role will require an average of sixteen (16) hours per week from September 2026 onwards. The induction period and handover will take place from mid-June and partly during the summer period. The hours are flexible and not tied to fixed days, with the exception of Faculty Board meetings (Tuesday mornings). You will be employed as a student assistant for this role. In addition, you will have access to a flexible workspace at Janskerkhof 3 (when the building is open).

We ask the student assessor (in consultation with the board secretary and the former assessor) to draw up an annual plan at the start of their term of office, briefly outlining the goals and priorities they wish to focus on as assessor.
