Elections for the 2026–2027 Faculty Council Geosciences will take place from June 1 through June 3, 2026, for the following electoral districts:

  • Student section Earth Sciences (2 seats available)
    • Candidates: Ward Bruin, Louise van Raalten, Willem Bakker, Kim Molenaar, Jim Koops
  • Student section Sustainable Development (3 seats available)
    • Candidates: Lars van Peij, Angelo Hankins, Casper Heidendaal, Noushin Mortaz

All geosciences students are eligible to vote and will receive an invitation to vote on June 1.

Election Results

On Thursday, June 4, at 4:30 p.m. in the VMA (ground floor), the results of the Geosciences Faculty Council Elections will be announced. Everyone is welcome!

Elected Members of the Faculty Council for Geosciences

For the remaining electoral districts, the number of candidates who have registered is equal to the number of seats available. No elections will be held for these electoral districts. The candidates are automatically elected for the 2026–2027 academic year. They are:

  • Student section Human Geography and Spatial Planning (3 seats available)
    • Irene Assmann, Anastosias Petsas, vacancy
  • Staff section Physical Geography (1 seat available)
    • Kim Cohen

The staff members for the electoral districts of Earth Sciences, Social Geography and Planning, Sustainable Development, and the Faculty Office were elected in the May 2025 elections for a two-year term and will remain members of the Faculty Council until September 1, 2027.
