Vacancy: Student Assessor Executive Board 2025-2026 (1.0 FTE)

Are you an involved student and do you like to think about developments in the field of education and studying at Utrecht University? Then perhaps you would like to become a studentassessor of the Executive Board.

The function

The Executive Board of Utrecht University is looking for a Student Assessor for the 2025-2026 academic year. As an advisory member of the Executive Board, you will discuss university policy, with your focus mainly on education- and student-related matters. You advise the Executive Board and highlight the student perspective in decision-making. You maintain a good relationship with students within the university and are well aware of what is going on among students. With this knowledge, you make an important contribution to decision-making at the university level.

You will participate as an advisor in the weekly meeting of the Executive Board, meetings with the University Council and other consultations relevant to the performance of the position. You will also be involved in various projects. You will also consult with various policy staff. There is also room for your own ideas. You regularly consult with the rector magnificus who is responsible for education and students in the Executive Board. You maintain a good relationship with the student assessors of the faculties, the Utrecht student organizations and students from the university council.

  • You are interested in developments in the field of education and interested in current issues in higher education and at Utrecht University;
  • You know what is going on among students; 
  • You can communicate well in Dutch and English and establish contact easily;
  • You can master complex issues quickly and are curious about new developments;
  • You can work well independently and organize your work well;
  • You have initiative and integrity;
  • You are enrolled as a student at Utrecht University and you do not hold a management position in a student organization, union or position in co-determination in the university during the 2025-2026 academic year;
  • Administrative or participation experience, inside or outside the university is a plus.

What do we offer?

You will be appointed by the Executive Board for the period of one year. The appointment period runs concurrently with the academic year, from Sept. 1, 2025 to Aug. 31, 2026. The scope of the position is up to 38 hours per week. The remuneration is in accordance with the remuneration of student assistants, for this you must be enrolled at Utrecht University.

Procedure

The studentassessor is appointed by the Executive Board on the recommendation of a nomination advisory committee. The committee consists of the rector magnificus, administrative secretary CvB, a former studentassessor CvB and two student members of the University Council. The procedure concludes with a click interview with the full Executive Board.
