Utrecht Canal Pride 2026: Will you sail with us?

Utrecht Canal Pride

The University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (HU), Utrecht University (UU), and the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) will be participating in the Utrecht Canal Pride on Saturday June 6th, 2026. Are you a student or employee of the HU, UU or UMCU and do you want to be a sailor on our boat? Fill out the sign-up form Utrecht Canal Pride to enter the raffle to be one of our sailors.

The draw

Unfortunately, we only have a limited number of spaces available on the boat. That’s why we want to give this opportunity to mainly queer and questioning* people. This way, we can come together to celebrate queer rights, diversity and progress and strive for the changes that are still very much needed. The sign-up form is available until May 2th, 2026. After the sign-up closes, a raffle will decide who is selected to sail on our boat. A week after the sign-up closes, an e-mail will be sent out about whether or not you were selected. This e-mail will also contain a link to confirm your spot on the boat.  So, keep an eye on your inbox and spam box so you don’t miss anything. Your spot on the boat will be given to someone on the reserve list if you don’t confirm your spot before the deadline one week after the raffle.

Sailors Event from the HU/UU/UMCU boat

We hope to see everyone on June 6th, either on the boat or on the side of the canal. If you are one of the people with a spot on the boat, also reserve May 12th, 2026, from 5.30 to 7.00 PM for the Sailors Event to meet the other sailors. More details about this will become available after the raffle. If you have any questions about the sign-up form or anything else pertaining to Utrecht Canal Pride, please don’t hesitate to send an e-mail to: utrechtscienceparkcanalpride@gmail.com.

Explanatory note

*Queer is an umbrella term for sexual and gender diverse individuals, including but not limited to homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, intersex, and non-binary/genderqueer people. By questioning individuals, we mean those who have not (yet) committed to a sexuality or gender identity or are still exploring.
