Update your iPhone or iPad due to a security risk

A serious vulnerability has been discovered in iOS and iPadOS (called DarkSword), which allows attackers to take over iPhones or iPads via malicious websites. An update prevents this.

What does this mean for you?

Check whether your device is up to date:

  • Are you using iOS 26? Make sure you have at least version 26.3
  • Are you using iOS 18? Install version 18.7.7 (also secure)

What should you do?

  • Go to Settings → General → Software Update
  • Install the latest available update
