Regularly, Utrecht University removes broken and abandoned bicycles. These cleanup actions in bicycle parking facilities are done to improve parking capacity and to improve the street view. The next cleanup action begins on the 2nd of Febuary 2020.
How does it work?
- In the last week of January, all bicycles parked in bicycle parking facilities which are maintained by the UU will be labelled.
- If you find your bicycle with a label, simply remove the label and your bike will not be removed.
- If the bicycle still has a label by 2 March 2020, the bicycle will be removed by Fietspunt BV. Locks will be cut where necessary. Damaged locks will not be reimbursed.
- Removed bicycles will be taken to the depot of Fietspunt BV where they will be stored for four weeks, from 2 March until 27 March. After that date, the bicycles will be recycled or sold.
My bicycle is gone. What should I do?
