University of Connecticut Summer School
The Global Training and Development Institute (GTDI) at UConn is offering a new series of three-credit courses designed for a truly international classroom experience. Open to students from around the world, these programs bring together diverse perspectives while exploring timely topics. Students will learn alongside peers from multiple countries, gaining academic insight and cultural exchange in a dynamic setting.
Food, Culture and Society
Discover how food connects history, culture, and innovation. This course focuses on regional differences for different cultures, and examines trends in current food or dietary behaviors amongst different cultural groups.
Hot Topics in Energy Transition
Explore the cutting-edge technologies driving the global shift toward renewable and alternative energy. This course introduces principles behind various types of energy, including solar cells, batteries, hydrogen storage, and their various applications. Students will also explore implementation of advanced materials, and AI.
American Studies
This course approaches American Studies by examining the United States as a global cultural actor. It explores how ideas of “America,” identity, and belonging are constructed, experienced, and challenged in different contexts, and how U.S. cultural and social structures shape inclusion and exclusion.
