Traces of slavery: join the conversation and show your thoughts
On 5 July, four days after Keti Koti, representatives of the Surinamese-Caribbean community, staff and students will discuss the research on slavery at UU, the University’s own part and the contemporary effects of the slavery past. We cordially invite you to be a part of the conversation.
Programme
Joyce Sylvester (State Commission against Discrimination and Racism) will provide an introduction and Migaisa Poeketi (Keti Koti Utrecht) will lead the dialogue. There will also be music, lunch and room to meet each other. The complete programme will soon be available on the Traces of slavery website.

We need your help!
If you have conducted research, have a (research) question, or hold any insights related to the topic of slavery or colonialism, we encourage you to share them through a poster. The posters will be displayed during the event, and we will cover the printing costs. Feel free to express your ideas using different formats, such as text, quotes, or collages (Canva is a helpful tool).
