Refugees who want to graduate from a Dutch university or have a plan for a scientific publication may submit a proposal to the UAF before 16 October 2017. The best proposal is rewarded with the Peter Baehr Prize, an amount of €10,000. This price stimulates research in the field of human rights, refugee issues and foreign policy.
The prize money is intended to prepare doctoral research or to acquire a doctoral position at a recognized scientific institution. Since 2016, the criteria for awarding the prize have been expanded. In addition to doctoral proposals, plans for a scientific publication can also be submitted. Participation is open to all first and second generation refugees in the Netherlands.
The Foundation for Refugee Students UAF will announce the winner in December.
