Sign up for the user-friendliness test of the new LMS

It will be a while yet, but UU will get a new Learning Management System (LMS). The agreement with the supplier of Blackboard expires in 2025 and the current version of Blackboard, which UU currently uses, is outdated. Therefore, UU is launching a European tender procedure to come up with a successor to the current Blackboard.

A new LMS has an impact on education. At the same time, the future LMS also offers many opportunities: higher user-friendliness, new functionalities and a more modern system. To get to a new LMS, we do not rush. A careful process is followed, in which the users' wishes and requirements play a crucial role. We ultimately choose the supplier that best meets our wishes and requirements.

An important part of the process are the user tests, where students, teachers, key users and administrators assess the various LMSs for user-friendliness. Do you want to influence the choice of the LMS you will be working with in the near future? Then sign up for the user test in January 2024. For each faculty, we need four students to attend both test days. They will each receive a gift voucher worth €100. Register quickly!

  • When: Tuesday 16 January and Wednesday 17 January from 13:00 to 17:00, a walk-in lunch from 12:30 will be provided.
  • Where: Bestuursgebouw, Utrecht Science Park
  • What: You test the LMSs of the various suppliers on user-friendliness by giving points

Requirement: You will attend both test days. For a fair assessment, it is important that all systems are evaluated by the same user panel. As a result of user feedback, a supplier may change its registration. We then submit this change to the users via e-mail and they have to indicate whether they would like to change their assessment as a result of this change. So we ask for commitment to that as well.
