Setting sail for Utrecht Canal pride
On 4 June, Utrecht University & Hogeschool Utrecht is taking part in the canal pride as a celebration of equality, diversity and "being who you are". While not everyone had the chance to be on the boat with us, we would like to celebrate pride by inviting you to an evening of dance and food with a "nerdy" theme. Wear your funky glasses, have a nerdy haircut or express yourself in any way you want. “Just be you”.
The afterparty/borrel will take place between 17:00 and 22:00 on 4 June at the werfkelder at the Oudegracht 32 in Utrecht. We reserved the place from 14:00 for anyone who want to cheer for us during the canal pride. The location is in the pink zone (boats will reach this point at 14:30). Please keep in mind that during the pride, the city center will be very busy and it might be difficult to prevent people from outside the university to be present on this location so try to come as soon as possible. The bar will open at 17:00 and there won’t be possibility to order/get your free drink before that time. We have room for 140 guests based on first come first served. Make sure to fill the registration form with the link below as soon as possible.
All the food will be vegetarian. Please let us know if you have any allergies or restrictions. The first drink will be on us. Details on how to claim your free drink after 17:00 will be sent to your email address after registration.
Would you like to help as a volunteer? We need and appreciate all the help we can get. We need help with setting up the boat in the morning, volunteers for decorating the location of the after party, volunteers to supervise and double check the guestlist and volunteers to help with cleaning up afterwards. For volunteers who will help during the morning’s preparation of the boat, lunch will be provided.
