A review committee, consisting of scientific experts, is currently reviewing all submissed theses and will select the 60 best of them. Selection is based on quality, societal relevance and originality. The selected papers are all presented at the SRC and published in the e-journal SURE. This means that participating in the SRC could lead to a publication that will be made accessible to a broad audience, a unique opportunity.
During the SRC, the jury will visit all workshop- and poster presentations. First of all, the jury will select one winner in every category for the main prize of €1.000. The categories are 'Humanities and Law', 'Natural and Biomedical Sciences', ‘Economics and Social Sciences' and 'Applied Sciences'. Secondly, in every category there is an audience award of €750. In every category the student with the best research, the student with the best description of societal impact, the best presenter and the best poster all give a pitch on the societal impact of their research. The public then decides who gave the best pitch and therefore should win the audience award. Finally there is prize of €500 for the best poster presentation.
