Printing on a new Canon printer? Here’s how to do it

In August, the Xerox multifunction printers at Utrecht University will be replaced by new Canon printers. Just as with the old printers, you can print in various ways. Has your printer been replaced and do you want to print directly from your own computer to the new printer? If so, you’ll need to install something once.

First time printing?

Please note: If you want to print directly from your own computer or a UU-managed computer onto a new Canon printer, the old printer will no longer work in the drop-down menu. You will need to install the new UU multifunctional printers once and log in using your Solis ID. Once you have done this, the printer will be installed and you will be able to select 'UU multifunctional' from the list of printers.

How do I sign in on a printer?

  • You can log in to the multifunctional printers via the ‘Campus Print’ app. You can download this from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • You can also link and use any card with an RFID chip (such as an OV-chipkaart*). You link this (again) once by requesting a PIN code in the print portal. Swipe your card over the printer's card reader. Enter your PIN code on the printer, and the card is linked and you can use it to log in from now on.
  • You can request a temporary PIN code in the print portal and enter it on the printer to log in.

How do I print on a Canon printer?

There are several ways to print. Directly from your computer, via the Campus Print app, the Campus Print portal, via SolisWorkspace or via email.
