National public transport strike on 9 September

A nationwide public transport strike has been announced for Wednesday 9 September. Employees across the entire public transport sector—NS, regional and city transport—will not work on this day. The strike will last 24 hours. For those traveling to the university by public transport, this can cause significant inconvenience.

Education continues

Despite the inconvenience, education at Utrecht University continues as usual during public transport strikes. This is also the case for Wednesday 9 September: education will continue. This has been coordinated with all faculties.

Some professors may decide to opt for a different mode of teaching (online, for example), so please check Brightspace regularly.

Absence

If, as a result of the strike, you are absent from education where attendance is mandatory, you can invoke the strike as the reason, and the attendance requirement will be waived.

More information

The exact start and end times for the urban and train transport strike will be announced in September. Please check the ov9292 website for updates.
