Man, zeg er wat van!

Do you think that kind of joke/comment/text message is unacceptable? Then speak up! Does a comment or joke directed at a woman go too far? Don't hesitate to call it out, whether you're friends, sports buddies or colleagues. Together, we can create a safe environment for everyone.

Did you know that:

• 7 out of 10 men think that men should call each other out more often on sexually transgressive behaviour towards women? Such as inappropriate comments and jokes about or directed at women.
• Of the men who have witnessed inappropriate behaviour by a man in their own social circle, more than 6 out of 10 wanted to say something about it, but ultimately did not because:
  • they were unsure whether the behaviour was serious enough;
  • they did not know what to say;
  • they did not want to ruin the atmosphere in the group.
• Most men don't mind if friends or colleagues call them out on their behaviour?
• You can prevent sexually transgressive behaviour by speaking up in your own group of friends, your sports team or among colleagues?

To motivate men to actually do this, the Dutch Government is launching the campaign “Man, zeg er wat van!” ("Man, say something!"). The campaign shows how you can call each other out without ruining the atmosphere in the group.
