Programme

Autumn School
We'd like your special attention for the Autumn School at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) in Amsterdam, for which you can now register. This year, the theme is 'The Qur’an and Its Interpretive Communities', a topic that centres on, but is certainly not limited to, the study of the Qur’an. Papers presented during this Autumn School will focus on the origins, translations and exegetical explanations of the Qur’an. We will also discuss the various ways in which online and offline Muslim communities in European countries receive, appropriate and discuss their holy book, also in light of societal debates on Islam. The Autumn School runs from 23 - 26 October and the deadline for registration is Friday 15 September 2023.
Credits
By participating in the programme, you can obtain at least 12 EC. When you successfully complete the course requirements, NISIS provides a certificate indicating your participation and the course load in EC. As a UU student, you can include these credits in your study programme.
