Who wrote the best master thesis on social housing? The Amsterdam Federation of Housing Associations (AFWC) calls on master students to submit their graduation thesis for the Jeroen van der Veer thesis prize 2026. In particular, we are looking for theses that offer an innovative view on issues in the field of social housing and provide lessons for housing policies.

Why this price?

The Jeroen van der Veer thesis prize is an annual prize for the best master's thesis in the field of social housing. The AFWC is a knowledge center in this field. A good thesis can help us to bridge the gap between science and the daily work of housing associations. Above all, the thesis award is a tribute to the late Jeroen van der Veer. He worked at the AFWC for more than 20 years and made major contributions to (research about) the social housing sector in Amsterdam before his passing in 2020.

Award ceremony

The jury will select three nominees from the entries. The winner will be announced during a award ceremony. The winner of Jeroen van der Veer thesis prize will receive 1,250 euros and an interview in magazine NUL20.
