This year, Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht are celebrating 385 years of science in Utrecht. For 385 years we have been working together and with others to create a better world. During this 77th lustrum we invite students, staff and residents of the city of Utrecht to join us in thinking about the future. Because together we will create tomorrow. Together with the University we have organised all kinds of things for our staff, students and residents of Utrecht over the coming months.
Together is the key word for this 77th lustrum. We work, learn and live together. And we also celebrate together. We are looking forward to valuable moments together. And hope that the lustrum programme will give you a smile, some fun and a beautiful memory.
Creating tomorrow together
Together with the University we have organised all kinds of things for our staff, students and residents of Utrecht over the coming months. The ‘Utrecht Research Agenda’ which we will draw up together with local residents. We will also be organising dialogues about the future and students will reveal our rich history by means of a city walk. In an outdoor exhibition, we will let graduates tell their stories. And in the Utrecht Archives, we are displaying an exhibition with historical material about student life in Utrecht. Our floating Platform Connect in the Singel of Utrecht is the landmark of the lustrum and will be a place for meeting and dialogue. A place to learn together, enjoy a performance and shape the city of tomorrow.
UMC Utrecht Lustrum programme
In addition, there is a special UMC Utrecht lustrum programme. This programme is especially designed for our staff members and students. In it you will find many more fun and interesting activities to do with your colleagues and fellow students! An Open Podium in which you can show your talent, online games to play alone or together, sign up for a city walk with a guide (one of our own colleagues!), send your fellow student an online postcard, and much more. We are doing this together, because we've been doing that for 385 years – we need each other. In the past, (certainly) now and we will in the future. So join us!
