International Courses for Students

Through CHARM-EU's Transnational Online Learning Programme (TOL), students can take courses abroad online

In block 2 of the 2024-2025 academic year, UU students can register for online courses at one of the CHARM-EU partner institutions. CHARM-EU is an Erasmus+ funded initiative aimed at fostering structural and strategic cooperation between European universities. Nine European institutions are part of CHARM-EU, including Utrecht University.

Through the Online Course Catalogue of the Transnational Online Learning (TOL) programme, students can now take online courses at various universities within the CHARM-EU alliance: University of Montpellier (France), Eötvös Loránd University (Hungary), Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg (Germany), or Åbo Akademi University (Finland).

Broadening horizons for students

By taking courses from the Online Course Catalogue, students can broaden their horizons. Online, they come into contact with teachers and students from different disciplines and nationalities, allowing the subject of the course to be observed from multiple perspectives. In addition, teachers can use this programme to make their teaching more noticeable to students at various institutions.

In the Online Course Catalogue, students can see which courses are offered, from which university, in which language, from which discipline, and in which period. The upcoming semester's list consists of 29 courses across a wide variety of disciplines. This offering will be further expanded in the coming years with additional courses and institutions. Most courses are offered flexibly, though some take place at fixed times. Both bachelor's and master's students can receive credits for these online courses.

Registration

Registration is open until December 9 or January 20, depending on the starting date of the course. There are a limited number of places for some courses.

An overview of the course offerings and the registration procedure can be found in the course catalogue for Transnational Online Learning.
