Can we pick your brain about interdisciplinary education within the optional course profile?

"Students will be offered increased opportunities to draw upon the wide range and the interdisciplinarity of the Utrecht University degree programmes. In 2020, it will be common to attend courses outside of their own degree programme."

In order to realise our ambition as laid down in the Strategic Plan, a university-wide project has been launched with the aim to strengthen interdisciplinary education within the optional course profile. The first step focuses on the refining and updating of the UU vision on the optional course profile. It is here that your perspectives, experiences and ideas as student, teacher or colleague who is otherwise involved in education are indispensable! That’s why we would like to pick your brain during one of the three UU-wide lunch sessions.

The sessions will centre around questions such as: which role does the optional course profile play in the academic training and personal development of the student? How should the optional course profile be utilized and to what effect? How does this relate to, for instance, the master’s selection? And how do we make interdisciplinary education accessible to all?

Follow-up

Your perspectives, ideas and insights will contribute to a refined vision on the optional course profile. Based on this vision, we will draw up objectives regarding our interdisciplinary education in the optional course profile. Subsequently, we will consider the framework and further steps required to realise these objectives. More about this later!

We hope to meet you in October.

Kind regards,

Interdisciplinary Education in the Optional Course Profile project team
