Become an Incluusion Buddy for refugee students!

Are you a student at Utrecht University and would you like to help with the academic integration of refugee students and meet new people from different backgrounds? Do new experiences and perspectives – and perhaps even a new friend – get you excited? Then sign up as a volunteer for the Buddy Programme for blocks 1 and 2 of the 2026–2027 academic year!

Incluusion

Incluusion offers the chance to enroll in UU courses for free to refugee and asylum seekers students. We have launched a Buddy Program to help students get used to everyday life at Utrecht University.

As a buddy, you can support them with navigating the UU platforms and locations, give them study tips, help them in building a social network, do activities together and of course take part in social events organized by Incluusion. Before you start, you will receive a BuddyTraining where we will discuss useful and interesting conversation topics and how to refer students who need more help. Additionally, you will learn more about the asylum procedure and intercultural communication.

Participation

Participation is on a voluntary basis and you will be required to commit for around 2 hours per week. If this sounds like something you would like, you can easily apply. On the Buddy-page of Incluusion, you will find more information, the registration form, and important dates.
