Schedule and phasing
In this phase, the project team works on the programme of wishes and requirements for the tender. In doing so, the project team involves users (lecturers, students, support staff) through working sessions. The combination of wishes and requirements forms a coherent package for the UU.
Via a market survey, we ask suppliers about issues such as user-friendliness, functionalities and cooperation with other UU systems. In doing so, we ask in particular for public values that we consider important, such as ownership of data, inclusiveness and digital accessibility, and transparency of algorithms.
During this phase, the tender is published and suppliers can bid for it. Based on their bids, we assess the suppliers, using predefined award criteria. This phase also includes user tests, in which students, teachers, key users and administrators evaluate the various LMSs in terms of user-friendliness. The supplier that best meets the requirements and wishes is awarded the contract and may deliver the new LMS for the UU.
In this phase, preparations are made to connect the LMS to existing UU systems and processes. These include logging in with Solis ID and preparing, adding and linking users from Osiris with educational tools.
During this phase, the first programmes/courses teach in the new LMS. During this phase, there is good support and regular coordination with participants to pick up learning experiences and areas for improvement.
At the start of the 2025-2026 academic year, all teaching that previously took place in Blackboard will take place in the new LMS. During this phase, good support will again be available to answer questions or help with issues.
