Thesis Awards
Here you can find an overview of some thesis awards related to various disciplines of law. These include both university awards as well as awards from other companies and organisations.
Every year, Utrecht University awards a prize for the best Master's thesis written at the University. It is awarded every year during the opening of the new academic year. The winner will receive an award which consists of a certificate and €1,500. Nominees need to meet certain specific criteria. The submitted graduate thesis or research must have received a mark of at least an 8.5 for instance. You cannot submit your thesis yourself; the thesis has to be submitted by the Director of Education or the Research Director of the Master’s programme for which the thesis was written. De Dutch Association of Environmental Law awards a prize for the best thesis on the subject of environmental law every other year. You can find more information on this prize on their website.
Every year, the Hanneke Steenbergen Fund (HSF) awards a prize for an exceptional thesis on the subject of migration law. The thesis can be written in English, but has to be written to conclude a Master's programme at a Dutch university. The prize constitutes 1500 euros. You can find more information on the HSF website.
The Dutch Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property awards a thesis prize to an exceptional thesis on the topic of intellectual property law annually. You can find more information on their website.
