Graduation

The graduation process consists of four steps:

  • Check your personal data.

  • Check your graduation programme.

  • Reply to the graduation email.

  • Collect your degree certificate.

Step 1: Check your personal data

Check if your personal data in Osiris are correct, such as:

  • your name (as it should appear on your diploma)
  • your date and place of birth
  • your enrolment for your programme
  • your personal email address (you can receive information about your diploma via this address, as your UU email address will be blocked 3 months after you deregister)

Anything not correct? Please update this as soon as possible via Osiris or contact Student Affairs.

Step 2: Check your graduation programme

Please check in Osiris that:

  • all the courses you have completed have been registered correctly
  • your graduation programme is complete
  • all your courses are updated

Is a course missing, or is there something incorrect? If so, please contact the Board of Examiners.

Step 3: Reply to the graduation email

  • Once you have passed all components of your graduation programme, you will receive an email from the Board of Examiners.
  • Please reply to the graduation email within 5 working days.
  • If you do not reply, we will assume that you wish to graduate. In that case, it will no longer be possible to postpone your graduation or attend a graduation ceremony.

The graduation email states:

  • that you have passed all components of your graduation programme
  • your expected graduation date

Graduation date:

  • always the last working day of the month (see FAQ for all monthly graduation dates)

If you haven’t heard anything by the day the graduation email is sent out, please notify the Board of Examiners by 1.00 pm on the same day.

Step 4: Collect Your Diploma

After your graduation date:

  • the Board of Examiners will determine the results of the examination and you will receive confirmation of this
  • your results of the examination will be sent to DUO
  • you will be notified about the diploma ceremony or how to collect your diploma

Step 5: Arrange this after graduation

After you graduate, there are a number of things you will need to sort out yourself.

Deregistering via Studielink

  • You must deregister via Studielink.
  • You will be deregistered on the first day of the following month.

Please note: make sure you are still enrolled on your graduation date, otherwise you will not be able to graduate!

Student finance and public transport

  • You must ensure that you cancel your student finance and student travel pass via the DUO website.
  • Further information on cancelling your student finance and student travel pass can be found under ‘Termination of your studies’.
