Study programme
This one-year Master’s consists of:
- A compulsory part worth 30 EC that comprises three compulsory major courses (15 EC) and Capita Selecta (15 EC);
- A specialisation or Master’s – minor (15 EC);
- A Research and Thesis Training (worth 15 EC).

- General course in Public International Law major (7.5 EC)
- Or: Specialisation Oceans, the Environment and Sustainability: International Law of the Sea (7.5 EC)
- Or: Specialisation Human Rights: Human Rights I: Principles and Institutions (7.5 EC)
- Or: Specialisation Conflict and Security: International Security Law (7.5 EC)
Period 2
- International Law Moot court (major)
For a select number of students to be replaced by Jessup or Telders International law Moot Courts (7.5 EC) - Or: Specialisation Oceans, the Environment and Sustainability: International Environmental Law (7.5 EC)
- Or: Specialisation Human Rights: Human Rights II: Substantive Rights (7.5 EC)
- Or: Specialisation Conflict and Security: International Humanitarian Law (7.5 EC)
Period 3
- Capita Selecta (6 modules including a compulsory research module) (15 EC)
Period 4
- Thesis (15 EC)
