Are you interested in shaping university affairs at faculty level? Do you want to influence decisions on teaching, research and governance? Gain experience as a board or council member! Every spring, you can stand for election to the Faculty Council and help shape the future of the faculty. We are looking for motivated students to join the discussion.
What is it about?
The Faculty Council (FC) consists of 10 staff members and 10 student members, who are elected annually. Student members receive a remuneration of 0.15 FTE and the president (vice-president) receives 0.2 FTE. The council advises the faculty board and votes on important issues, such as the faculty budget plan.
Who can get elected?
Any student of the Faculty of Law, Public Administration and Economics can register as a candidate for the FC elections. You can join a candidate list of your department or start your own list. ANYONE can be a candidate!

How can you register as an election candidate?
You can apply as a candidate during a specific period at the beginning of each calendar year. The specific deadlines will be communicated by e-mail. Please direct any questions to the secretary of the Faculty Council Law, Economy and Governance, Bestuurssecretariaat@uu.nl. Keep an eye on the student website for information on registration deadlines and other announcements. Please note that deadlines are final and cannot be waived.
