  Ensure slides support the oral delivery.

  Engage the audience with a calm pace, eye contact, and summaries.
• Q&A
  Respond appropriately to questions and contribute to the discussion.

If not, send a message to the Student Information Desk with a brief explanation including your student number and programme.

Are there results under 'Other' that should count towards your study programme? Please inform the Board of Examiners. Do you have to wait unnecessarily long for a grade? If so, contact your professor and indicate that you want to graduate soon. If you have taken courses outside Utrecht University, check whether these have been approved by the examination board.

You can graduate if you have fulfilled the requirements described in the Education and Examination Regulations (TER) and if all grades are registered in OSIRIS.

Graduating Cum Laude
The Education and Examination Regulations (EER) explain exactly what requirements you must meet to graduate cum laude (Article 6.2) The Board of Examiners will check if you meet the requirements. The judicium Cum Laude appears on your diploma and on the International Diploma Supplement (IDS).

You will be granted a postponement if you:

• hold a board position for which an administrative scholarship is available from Utrecht University
• are doing an internship or additional elective courses abroad

Postponement
If you are allowed to postpone your graduation, you will be notified. This notification will state the date until which you can postpone your graduation. After this date you will again receive notification from the examination board that you have met the requirements to graduate. We will then let you know what your graduation date will be.

No postponement
If your request for postponement is not granted, you will be notified. You will then graduate on the graduation date previously set for you by the examination board.

If you want to participate in the graduation ceremony of your master's programme, you indicate this on the diploma application form. The link to this form is in the graduation notice you receive at your UU student email address. 

Diploma ceremonies take place in the autumn (September, October or November), in the Aula of the University Hall on Domplein. 

You will be notified by the programme where and from which date you can collect your diploma.

To receive your diploma, you first need to archive the final version of your master’s thesis in the digital thesis archive of Utrecht University by uploading it via a Case in OSIRIS Student.

• You will find ‘Cases’ in the yellow part of the homepage of OSIRIS Student
• Start a new Case (no. 05) ‘thesis and graduation’
• Read the information on archiving and publishing first, and click on ‘Start’
• Select the options that apply to you, answer the questions and upload a PDF version of your thesis.

Contrary to what you will read on this website, as an USG student you thus start the Case yourself in Osiris Student.

• Did you graduate in the months September to May? Then deregister via Studielink as soon as all the grades you need are in Osiris and you have received a message from the Examination Board. You can deregister as of the 1st day of the following calendar month. After you have terminated your registration, you can apply to UU for a refund of your tuition fees for the remaining months of the academic year.
• Did you graduate in June, July or August? In this case, you do not have to deregister from your programme; enrolment will automatically expire on 31 August. In that case, you will not receive a tuition fee refund.

You must make sure that you stop your student grant and student travel card via DUO's website.
