If you have questions concerning the choice and planning of your study, about the academic skills, about the rules and regulations of the study or you have other issues (be they private or not), you can contact a study advisor.
The study advisors can guide and advise you on your study (choice) and setting up an academic plan. They can help you find your way through the countless amenities Utrecht University offers.
If you encounter a delay in your academic progress, through e.g. illness, special circumstances or family circumstances, you are to report this as soon as possible.
NOTE: During the end of year holidays, from 21 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, the study advisors will be unavailable. In this period, there will be no walk-in or telephone hours. Emails sent in this period will be answered after the holiday break.

Do you have to or have you had to deal with inappropriate behavior, such as verbal or sexual harassment, discrimination, aggression, violence or bullying? Do you see it happening to someone else? If you think you have experienced inappropriate behavior, don't keep it to yourself but discuss it. Even if you have witnessed inappropriate behavior, you can discuss it.
Contact inappropriate behaviour (for students)
Our contact person for inappropriate behavior is Renée Freriks. Renée will support you in an approachable and confidential manner. She will help you take the next step towards a solution. Even if you have experienced inappropriate behavior outside of UU and encounter that person at UU, you can contact her. You will discuss the impact and where you can find help.
After you contact
- You quickly receive an invitation for an appointment, at (a discreet) location or online via Teams, just what you would like. The contact person listens, thinks with you and explains possible next steps.
