Extracurricular programme
The extracurricular programme aims to build a community at PPE Utrecht in which students and staff regularly meet, feel at home and feel respected and valued by one another. Participating in the community also contributes to obtaining the learning goals set by PPE Utrecht.
The PPE curriculum in a narrow sense is complemented by its extracurricular programme (ECP). It provides a space outside the regular classroom, in which you can develop your sense of initiative and practice the skills trained in the programme. Every student entering PPE Utrecht is expected to participate in the ECP by joining or creating a committee, by starting a new initiative or by actively participating in the activities and events that are organised within the programme.
You, the students, will be the leaders of the extracurricular programme. You will have the freedom and the responsibility to organise and carry out both the intellectual and the social parts of the extracurricular programme. PPE offers funding for ECP activities and you are supported by the Coordinator of the extracurricular programme, Dr Julia Swart, and the Education Coordinator of PPE, via Education Coordinator PPE.
In the past, for instance, students have organised discussions in cooperation with other youth associations on topics like Refugee Crisis or the Future of NATO, an excursion to the European Parliament in Brussels as well as creative and social activities such as compiling a PPE Poetry Book and a charity auction.
