Pre-Master's programme

A Pre-Master's programme prepares you for your Master's programme. The programme you follow is often customised: it is tailored to your needs. Below you will find all the practical information you need to successfully complete your Pre-Master's programme at the Faculty of Humanities.

Start with your programme

Your individual course programme can be found in the conditional admission decision you received or you have received it as a separate attachment. You will attend courses with Bachelor's students. You do not have to register for the courses yourself. For course descriptions (including study materials), please consult the course catalogue. Does your programme inlcude writing a thesis? Please check the website of your Bachelor's programme for more information. 


Install digital tools and login to platforms

When you start at Utrecht University, you will receive a Solis-id and e-mail address, with which you will have access to various educational platforms that are important for your studies. For example, the MyUU app, Outlook or Brightspace. The MyUU app also contains your digital student card. 


Support and development

If you have questions about your study planning and progress, you can contact the Study Advisor. Also consult the study advisor in case of personal problems or if something happens that affects your study progress. If you have course-related questions, please contact your lecturer.

Please contact your Study Advisor as soon as possible. You must apply for support for study period 1 by 13 September at the latest.

Completing your Pre-Master's programme

If you have fulfilled the requirements for your Pre-Master's programme, contact the Humanities Teaching Administration Office at admissions.hum@uu.nl.


Get ready for your Master's programme

You can find your curriculum on the website for your Master's programme. Furthermore, you will find all the policies and procedures here, such as the Education and Examination Regulations. You will also find the contact details of your Programme Coordinator (often your tutor during the Pre-Master's programme).
