This curriculum applies to students who started in 2025. Did you start the programme before?
Year 1 | Compulsory courses
In the first year, you will take six core courses (50 EC). You will also take courses for at least 10 EC with one of the National Research Schools, preferably in your first year. The selection of courses needs to be approved by the Programme Coordinator.
Year 2
In the first semester of your second year you will write your Master's thesis. During the second semester, you can do an internship of 30 EC. If you do a 15 EC internship, you can take 15 EC worth of courses or tutorials on offer in the RMA programme, the National Research schools or in other MA programmes at UU or elsewhere in the Netherlands. Your choice must be approved by the Programme Coordinator and the Board of Examiners.
