Year 3
Year 3 is all about your final project. You will take the following courses:
- 7.5 EC Research seminar on Media And Culture (preparation for your final paper)
- 7.5 EC Thesis
- 45 EC Elective courses (of the 60 EC you will have to obtain in your programme)

Block 1 or 3: Research seminar on Media And Culture (EV)
In the Research seminar on Media and Culture you will prepare yourself for writing your dissertation. You wil work on a research design that will form the starting point for the research that you will conduct in your theis. You will be assigned to a working group that is based on your specialisation. It is best to take the research seminar and the BA Thesis in consecutive blocks.
If you are taking the minor Gender Studies and/or the minor Postcolonial Studies and would like to receive further training in these fields, you can ask approval to take the Gender and postcolonial studies research seminar and thesis courses.
Block 2 or 4: Final thesis
You conclude your major with the BA Final Thesis. You are free to choose the subject, as long as it is part of Media and Culture research area.
Block 1, 2, 3 and 4: Elective courses
In year 3, you choose the remaining 45 EC in elective courses. As electives you can start with a minor, do an internship, go abroad or choose from a broad range of available courses. Make sure to check each course's entry requirements.
