1. Literature across Borders
Over the past two decades, research and debates in subfields like migration and diaspora studies, postcolonial studies, utopian studies, and environmental humanities have expanded the scope of comparative literature. This specialisation covers these interdisciplinary areas, introducing you to an international corpus of texts beyond Western European literature and providing an in-depth understanding of literature and the environment.
2. Literature in Conflict
This specialisation examines the tensions between literature and society, focusing on topics like censorship, cultural memory, the body, and political protest within specific historical contexts. You will explore key issues and current debates, using case studies to identify and explain the historical and theoretical connections between literature, law, religion, culture, politics, and philosophy.
