Master's thesis

The Master’s thesis of Gender Studies is an individually written, academic work and it is the last step you must complete in order to graduate. The Master’s thesis can either build on and investigate a particular issue that you encountered during the internship or focus on an entirely different topic. Your internship and Master's thesis together will form your graduation project.

When do you write your Master's thesis?

You can only start your graduation project after you have successfully completed  6 Master's courses (30 EC), among which are the compulsory courses of semester I. Full-time student write their thesis in study period 4, whole part-time students write in study periods 3 and 4 of year 2. Go to the thesis course description


What should you demonstrate in your Master's thesis?

  • the ability to carry out your own academic research in the field of Gender Studies
  • use of appropriate theories, concepts and methods as covered during the Master's programme
  • the ability to report in a way that meets academic standards

Submitting and uploading your thesis proposal and thesis

You submit your thesis proposal as well as your actual thesis via Osiris. In Osiris, you can also track your progress and the final grade will appear. Is your thesis approved? Then you have to upload the final version in the thesis archive.
