MyUU app

In the MyUU app for students you will find your grades from Osiris, your student card and your personal timetable. Download the app from Apple app store or Android's Google Play store.Once installed you log in with your Solis-id and password.

MyUU portal

The MyUU portal on the student website offers:

  • Your timetable from MyTimetable
  • Your results from OSIRIS
  • Your study progress from OSIRIS
  • Your emails from UU-Gmail
  • Links to frequently used university systems and websites
  • A direct link to the homepage of your study programme

You can access the portal at https://students.uu.nl/myuu or by clicking Log in in the top right corner of this website.

Osiris

Use OSIRIS to register for courses, see your marks and enter a change of address.

Blackboard

The University has a digital learning environment called Blackboard. You can log in using your Solis-id and Solis password. Please note! Did you recently received your Solis-id? It may take up to 24 hours until your account is activated in Blackboard. Please try again later.

Missed a lecture? Did'nt pay enough attention? Visit Lecturenet (Dutch). Here you can find a growing collection of recorded lectures.

MyTimetable

MyTimetable is the timetable website of Utrecht University. More information here on the MyTimetable page.

New students (from 1 July 2020 and later):

Every student has a Solis-mail address. This address has been sent to your private email address (during your registration).

Students from before 1 July 2020:

Existing students used to have UU-Gmail.

The information above is already emailed to all students.

Solis-id

Your Solis-id is your username for most university services. You also use it to log on to university computers. It is the same as the 7-digit student number you have received after your enrolment application in Studielink. You can find this in your messages in Studielink. 

Password

As a new student, you will receive your Solis-id via e-mail. In that same e-mail, you will find a link to the password portal where you are able to create your password.

You can use a personal smart card – for example your OV chip card – to print, photocopy and scan documents. You can then print your print job at any printer in the university. Please note: your personal smart card (RFID) is only used to identify you at the printer. Your print credit is linked to your Solis-id, not the personal smart card you use to identify yourself.

TOP UP PRINT CREDIT

You can top up your print credit via the online portal. Please note: Sometimes, the portal says "failure during topping up". This is often incorrect. Please check your print credit first before trying again.

WORKING ONLINE

  • Access your personal files on your U drive from another location (off-campus): see the page about your personal storage for instructions.
  • Use Google Docs to work on your documents online. The page Google Apps for Education tells you all about this.
  • With Skype for business (formerly known as Lync), a feature of Office365, you can chat and collaborate online.
  • Use the software for your studies (using whatever device you want) with MyWorkplace.

U Drive

The U drive is your personal network storage where you have 1 GB available for your files. You can access your U drive via one of the university computers or via MyWorkplace. See the manuals website for how to access MyWorkplace. In this way you always have access to your files.

Google drive

Google Drive enables you to store files in the cloud.  You can also share these files with other students, or work together on the same file via Google Docs.

SurfFileSender

Using SURFfilesender you can send files to anyone you wish, including people outside Utrecht University and organisations without a SURF licence. If someone wants to send you files, you, as a SURFfilesender user, can send them a 'voucher'.

MyWorkplace (free software)

You can access software that you need for your studies, such as Mathlab, SPSS, Stella or Stata anywhere. And you can work independently using devices with a Windows, Apple or Android operating system. From now on you will be able to study anywhere with your own laptop. Other Software

You can use most software for free via MyWorkplace. Utrecht University also offers free software such as Office 365 which you may install locally on your own laptop or computer.

Surfspot

You can also buy software and hardware with a discount via Surfspot (click on "English" at the upper right corner on the website). Log on using your Solis-id and password.

Some faculties demand that you have your own laptop for your study, others only advice to have one. The specifications for your laptop also vary from each faculty. Ask for the requirements at your own study. In general, it is recommended that your laptop is suitable for working with MyWorkplace and that you can install Office 365.

The Faculty of Science, Social Sciences and Geosciences have their own page with information. Other faculties do not require any specific hardware - or will let you know this themselves.
