Curriculum

The Master's Programme GEMMA (Research) comprises two years (120 EC). Each year is divided into two semesters. A semester is divided into 2 study periods. Each study period you take 15 EC worth of courses. Please check the GEMMA website for more information about this programme.  

Overview

The Course planner contains an overview of the courses in your study programme's exam requirements, including useful information about individual courses. The Programme Coordinator is available if you require assistance selecting your courses.

GEMMA students (first year)

If you start your first GEMMA semester at Utrecht University, you follow 6 compulsory courses (30 EC) and choose 6 electives (30 EC). You will find the course overview below. 

GEMMA Mobility Students (second year)

If you start your third GEMMA semester at Utrecht University, you will take the Research Design Seminar I, which is a compulsory course especially designed for RMA students who are starting to write their thesis (5 EC). In the first semester, you also choose 5 electives (25 EC). In the second semester, you will write your thesis (30 EC). The Research Design Seminar II is also scheduled in study period 3 and 4.
