Master's thesis
A Master's thesis is an academic report in which you make an independent contribution to research within the field of Film and Television cultures.

When do you write your Master's thesis?
You write your thesis in the second semester (study periods 3 and 4). Students write their MA thesis before starting an internship in period 4. Please note that you can only start writing your Master’s thesis after you have successfully completed at least five courses (25 EC) from semester I. Go to the thesis course description.
Form and content
The writing of the thesis, which ideally has a length between 7.000 and 10.000 words, will be supervised by a staff member of the programme who will be assigned to your project when you compose a research proposal in period 2. At the start of period 3, you will present this research proposal to the thesis supervisor and second reviewer, who will decide on whether the proposal can be approved.

Submitting and uploading your thesis proposal and thesis
You submit your thesis proposal as well as your actual thesis via Osiris. In Osiris, you can also track your progress and the final grade will appear. Is your thesis approved? Then you have to upload the final version in the thesis archive.
