Wat heb je nodig?

Goede kennis van de Nederlands taal (voorkeur moedertaal) en belangstelling voor taalverwerving en taalonderwijs, in het bijzonder Nederlands aan anderstaligen, zijn een aanbeveling.

Stage Nederlands als vreemde taal (NVT-stage)

In deze stage maak je kennis met de neerlandistiek buiten Nederland en leer je de Nederlandse taal en cultuur vanuit een heel nieuw perspectief te bekijken. Bovendien doe je ervaring op in het onderwijs door les te geven over Nederlands als vreemde taal.

Voor de stage werk je in een opleiding Nederlands met niet-moedertalige studenten. Denk aan lessen in spreekvaardigheid of luistervaardigheid, het ontwikkelen van cursusmateriaal, het corrigeren van opdrachten of het organiseren van culturele activiteiten. De invulling van de stage verschilt per stageplaats. De taken worden in overleg met de docenten ter plaatse vastgelegd in een individueel stagewerkplan. 

Stage en studieverblijf

De stage is onderdeel van een uitwisseling naar het buitenland gedurende een semester (twee blokken, in totaal 30 EC). Voor de stage ontvang je 7,5 EC. Eventuele ophoging is mogelijk na overleg, afhankelijk van de bestemming en de precieze werkzaamheden. De overige EC behaal je door cursussen te volgen. De stage vindt plaats bij een gastuniversiteit binnen het Erasmus+ uitwisselingsprogramma.

Heb je belangstelling neem dan voor 1 november contact op met Dr. Marijke de Belder  (m.n.r.debelder@uu.nl), met dr. Rianne van Lieburg (a.vanlieburg@uu.nl) in de Cc. Als je geselecteerd wordt, dan moet je je vóór 1 december aanmelden voor studeren in het buitenland.

The Harting Scheme is the oldest internationalisation programme in Europe, set up in 1945. It is intended for English degree programme students at six Dutch universities, allowing you to study at a renowned Irish, Welsh or English university for a full year and have your fees waived. It is a prestigious exchange programme that would appeal to ambitious students wishing to gain first-hand experience of life in Britain/Ireland, improve their knowledge and use of English, and in some cases teach Dutch. Your academic work during the exchange will be integrated into your programme at UU.

Who can apply?

To be nominated for a Harting Scholarship, you need to have finished your first year courses, be motivated and independent. You also need to demonstrate why a year’s study at the particular participating university you're applying for, will enrich your study of English Language and Culture. You can apply for a place in the Harting Scheme in your second year, and will go abroad in your third year.

"I am very grateful that I got the opportunity to spend an academic year in Bangor. The beautiful university building, the welcoming campus and the beautiful nature in the area (mountains, waterfalls, coasts) make this place truly special.

The freedom I had to study subjects outside of my usual field (such as French and Spanish literature) and the quality of the courses have helped me develop greatly in my academic knowledge and skills. My courses also sparked my interest in the Welsh language and its literature, something I will continue to pursue in the future. Teaching Dutch was also a very fun experience and made me fall in love with teaching!

My Harting year was full of unforgettable experiences that led to wonderful friendships and made me know myself better as a person. It also convinced me that I want to move back to the UK in the near future!"
