Master's thesis

A Master's thesis is an academic report in which you make an independent contribution to theatre or dance studies research. In combination with your internship the Master's thesis forms your graduation project.

When do you write your Master's thesis?

You will write your thesis in the second semester (study periods 3 and 4). You write your thesis individually, but you will regularly work together in groups in which you share learning experiences regarding your thesis and internship. Go to the thesis course description


What should you demonstrate in your Master's thesis?

  • Carrying out your own academic research or research project in the field of Contemporary Theatre, Dance and Dramaturgy 
  • Using appropriate theories, concepts and methods as covered during the Master's programme
  • Reporting on your research in a way that meets academic standards

Submitting and uploading your thesis proposal and thesis

You submit your thesis proposal as well as your actual thesis via Osiris. In Osiris, you can also track your progress and the final grade will appear. Is your thesis approved? Then you have to upload the final version in the thesis archive.
