Have your say in our Education

We invite you to give your opinion about the education and the UU as an organisation in various ways. Feedback is welcome, but hurtful, intimidating and inappropriate comments will not be tolerated.

• Education
  • Evaluate anonymously your course via Caracal so that your programme knows what needs to be improved.
  • In the National Student Survey (NSE), you can give your opinion on the general quality of your programme.
  • You can also contact your lecturer or the programme committee. This committee also includes fellow students from your programme.
  • Take part in the educational conversation that takes place once a year. You will discuss improvements, such as the relationship between courses, with education coordinators and lecturers.
• UU as an organisation
  • Do you have a complaint? Then report it to the Humanities complaints coordinator.
  • You can always take your ideas to the student assessor of your department.

Participation is something you can do in addition to your studies. You gain experience in thinking about changes and improvements in a large organisation like the UU and, above all, it is enriching for your CV. 

• Education
  • Programme Committee (OC): in the programme committee you are concerned with the quality of education in your programme
  • Student Assessor: the student assessor advises the departmental board on student and educational matters from a student point of view
  • The Board of Directors of Education: the Board of Directors of Education consults on educational matters and developments within the faculty.
• UU as an organisation
  • The Faculty Council: the Faculty Council consults with the Faculty Board on faculty policy in the areas of education, research, finance, and personnel & organisation.
  • The University Council: in the University Council, you consult with the UU Executive Board on central university policy in the fields of education, research, finance, personnel & organisation.
• Outside the UU
  • Vidius: supports all students who are active in the participation at Utrecht University
  • LSVB (Landelijke Studenten Vakbond): federation of 23 student unions
  • ISO (Interstedelijk Studenten Overleg): the largest national student union in the Netherlands

The Board of Studies consists of all the directors of education, the vice-deans of education and 2 students from the Faculty of Humanities. The board consults on educational matters and developments within the Faculty. The student members represent the interests of all students, provide advice and can add their own items to the agenda. They work closely with the faculty assessor and the student delegation in the Faculty Council.
