Master's thesis
You complete the Master's programme by writing a Master's thesis (15 EC). This 10,000-word thesis represents your ability to conduct independent research on a musicological topic of your choice under the guidance of an academic supervisor.
By the time you start working on your Master’s thesis, there will be resources available to exchange ideas and experiences with your fellow students, for instance in the guise of peer review and intervision groups. Participation in these groups will improve your analytical skills that are essential for writing a good thesis. It is possible to combine your internship (15 EC) with the Master's thesis, but you can also pick a completely separate topic, for instance by distinctly expanding on research done for courses in the first semester.
