Warm Welcome Forum
The Warm Welcome Team is looking for you! Have you heard about the Warm Welcome Project? It is a project specifically dedicated to help all international students feel at home during their time at UU. We are setting up a forum where we would like to hear from you and if you want to get involved in improving the experience of international students, this is your chance!
What this Programme Includes
- Round-table discussion panel on key topics such as: wellbeing, integration, academic life, social life, living in Utrecht, etc.
- Volunteer opportunities - help us with events, social media, content creation and much more!
- Regular feedback opportunities to improve services at UU.
- Trainings & Workshops - inter-cultural communication, leadership skills, navigating the international life in the Netherlands and more!
- Several borrels and networking opportunities.
If you would like to sign-up for the Warm Welcome Forum, please fill out the form below and let us know if you can come to the first round of Introduction meetings on November 1st and 2nd, where we will tell you more about what we do and what to expect, as well as use this opportunity to share your ideas with us.
More about the Programme
This programme is voluntary and you can choose in which way you would like to take part.
Input Session on Future Dutch Language Course Set-up
Did you know that the UU is going to offer free Dutch language courses to international students?
Two language trainers who are setting up this Dutch course would like to hear from you what’s important to international students when learning Dutch. Any wishes, needs, suggestions can be shared during this meeting.
Borrel with Student Organisations
Did you know there are over 150 different student organisations at UU?
The Warm Welcome Team is giving a workshop to student associations about internationalisation. Did you know that many of them would like for international students to be more involved?
However, there are still some barriers to overcome, which is why we would like to meet with them (and you) and think of the best ways forward. With the input gathered from the session, we can develop a better strategy to help both the organisations and international students.
Academic Feedback ft. Skills Lab
Did you know that there are many workshops available to help you with your academics by the Skills Lab?
The Warm Welcome Team is also working on an ‘Academic Warm Welcome’ with the faculties & Skills Lab to develop workshops and content that is relevant to you (that is not being done already).
This feedback will therefore focus on understanding your needs and what you would like more insight on (for e.g., presentation skills, interacting with your peers, understanding the grading system etc.,)
Based on the feedback received, we will pilot several workshops at Faculty-level in the next 2 semesters.
Warm Winter Programme - Volunteering Opportunity
The Warm Welcome Team will be organizing several activities for students during December and we would love to hear from those who would like to be involved!
Do you like event planning? Do you enjoy meeting others? Do you want to help us get the cosy vibes just right? Then please let us know (email firstname.lastname@example.org ).
It’s almost Christmas time! Let’s get together for a social event in the city centre. First drink is on us!
