Get to know yourself better and stand stronger
Are you looking for more control over your life, more self-confidence, and a better balance between study, work, and personal life? Then the training "Autonomie Versterken" might be something for you. In this training, you will learn to manage expectations from yourself and others, as well as how to deal with stress and emotions. In psychology, this is called "autonomy." Autonomy means self-direction. Through the training, you'll gain more insight into your reactions, emotions, and desires. By knowing them, you'll learn to manage them better. The better you know yourself, the easier it becomes to navigate challenging situations. Autonomous behavior is based on self-awareness. The more insight and control you have over yourself, the better you can handle difficult situations, performance pressure, and decision stress.
Through interactive group sessions and homework assignments, you’ll learn how to strengthen your autonomy. The training spans about 12 weeks and was developed by Dr. Annerieke Oosterwegel, a lecturer and developmental psychologist.
What can you expect?
- 5 group sessions of 2 hours where theory and experiential exercises alternate. We engage in a lot of exchanges with each other, so we also learn from each other.
- Independent work with assignments that help you get to know yourself better.
- Between the sessions, you work on two assignments that will take you about half a day.
- At the end, you will write a guide for and about yourself that can help you deal with challenging situations in the future.
After the training, you will notice that you have a better understanding of how to manage expectations from yourself and others. You will gain more control over your motivation, take better care of yourself, and experience more balance in your life. In short: this training will not only help you during your studies but also long after.
